S.S. Yeşilova Beldesi Tarımsal Kalkınma Kooperatifi

S.S. Yeşilova Beldesi Agricultural Development Cooperative is a producer organisation born of the real needs seen in the field. The agricultural development work carried out in Yeşilova and the surrounding production areas — and the milk cold-chain work in particular — has shown that issues such as quality in production, technical infrastructure, input supply, product collection, market access and coordination are not independent of one another. This process made visible the need for a strong, sustainable local institution capable of producing solutions to the problems producers struggle to solve on their own.

Our cooperative was founded in response to this need. Our aim is not merely to gather producers under one roof; it is to build a sustainable working model that plans our members' production and needs together, acts jointly on inputs, improves quality and traceability, eases access to technical knowledge, protects the value of products and strengthens the producer's hand in reaching the market. Valuing cooperation with public institutions, universities, the private sector and other stakeholders, we aim to develop a transparent, participatory, measurable cooperative that delivers results in the field.

Our Mission

Our mission is to produce joint solutions to our producers' shared needs and problems, to make the processes from production to market more planned, efficient and reliable, and to strengthen our members' economic power. To this end, we act together in production and needs planning, joint input supply, training and technical support, quality and traceability, the cold chain, marketing and institutional partnerships — building a transparent, participatory and sustainable cooperative structure.

Our Vision

Starting from Yeşilova, to be a strong agricultural development cooperative that grows the producer's power through shared wisdom; that manages every process from production to market in a planned, transparent and data-driven way; and that stands as a model in Eastern Anatolia and an example across Türkiye.

Our Difference

What Sets Us Apart?

Experience from the Field

Instead of defining problems from a distance, we value listening to the producer, seeing the need on site, and developing solutions according to real field conditions.

Local Solution Capacity

Rather than a structure that waits for outside intervention with every technical problem, we strengthen the capacity to recognise core issues and develop the first solution locally.

Holistic Approach

We do not treat input supply, production, quality, technical support, logistics and marketing as separate tasks; we handle the process from production to market as a whole.

Participatory Structure

We do not want the cooperative's work to rest on the shoulders of a few people; we share duties and responsibilities through working groups.

Data-Driven Management

We believe that sound decisions cannot be made without knowing the producer's capacity, what they produce, and which inputs they need.

Results-Oriented Support

We do not settle for merely providing training or identifying problems; we mobilise the right knowledge and expertise and follow the solution process through to the result.

What sets us apart is not claiming to know the answer to every problem; it is our determination to build a structure that defines the problem correctly, brings the right people together, and continually develops its capacity to solve it.

Our Principles

Our Approach

Our Understanding of Cooperation and Partnership

We believe that agricultural development cannot be achieved through the effort of a single institution or a single actor. Depending on the producer's needs, we aim to develop cooperation with public institutions, universities, the private sector, local governments, professional organisations and other stakeholders, bringing knowledge, technical capacity, financing and market opportunities together around shared benefit.

We see our cooperative's role not merely as a service-providing structure, but as a local coordination and solution centre that connects the producer's needs with the right institution, expert and market. In our partnerships, we prioritise mutual trust, a clear division of duties, concrete goals and the delivery of sustainable results.

Not doing everything on our own, but coming together with the right stakeholders for the right solution.

Institutionalisation, Transparency and Participatory Management

We believe that sustainable success cannot be achieved through investment, equipment or the number of projects alone. Lasting success requires an institutional structure with defined duties, orderly records, members who take part in decision-making processes, strong financial discipline and accountability.

For this reason, rather than a way of working that depends on individuals, we aim to build our development on a system in which duties are shared, decisions are recorded, activities are monitored and members are kept informed. We do not view transparency merely as the disclosure of financial statements; we value members being able to understand which decisions are taken and for what purposes resources are used.

We want our cooperative to draw its strength not from individuals, but from the system we build.

Social Responsibility and Local Development

We do not see rural development merely as an increase in the quantity of production. For us, development means the producer receiving the reward for their labour, being able to access knowledge and technology, being able to remain in production, being able to act collectively, and being able to look to the future with confidence in the place where they live.

While our fundamental aim is to advance the economic interests of our members, we also value the capacity we create contributing to the social and economic development of Yeşilova and its surroundings. The growth of local knowledge, the transformation of solidarity into economic strength, young people being able to see a sustainable future in agriculture, and a greater share of the value created by production remaining in the region are the core elements of this approach.

We want to measure our success not only by its scale, but by the value it adds to the lives of our members and the region.

Our Journey

Our path from understanding the needs in the field to an institutional structure.

  1. 2026 · Understanding Needs in the Field

As part of work to increase the competitiveness of the milk sector in Muş, training sessions, field visits and assessment meetings were held with producers, public institutions and experts. Producers' problems were addressed together with their production, quality, cold-chain, technical-infrastructure and marketing dimensions.

  2. 2026 · The Cold Chain Comes to Life

Yeşilova was chosen as the pilot implementation area. After the preparatory work, the first milk collection took place in Yeşilova on 10 March 2026; a new era began, built on quality control, the cold chain and a regular market connection.

  3. 2026 · Local Solution Capacity

Along the way, problems such as electricity, water, calibration, equipment and logistics were encountered. The technical team that formed in Yeşilova contributed not only at its own centre but also to solving problems at other implementation points.

  4. 2026 · From Experience to an Institution

The experience gained in the field showed that these problems needed to be handled by a permanent structure that owns the process from production to market. It was to meet this need that S.S. Yeşilova Beldesi Agricultural Development Cooperative was founded.

  5. New Era · From Production to Market, Together

Our goal is to make the Yeşilova model permanent and sustainable by developing our field experience through planned production, joint input supply, technical services, quality and traceability, digital record-keeping and strong partnerships.
