Why We Were Founded

The Yeşilova Agricultural Development Cooperative was born not merely from the idea of founding yet another producer organization, but from the real needs observed on the ground over a long period. The experience gained in rural development, and particularly in milk cold chain operations, has shown that technical infrastructure, quality, hygiene, producer communication, staff continuity, record-keeping, logistics, and market connections all need to be managed within the same system.

This process has also made clear that building an infrastructure and operating it in a sustainable manner are not the same thing. To ensure the continuity of the system, there is a need for organizational capacity that can respond quickly when a problem arises, maintain constant communication with producers, develop technical expertise locally, and mobilize the right people when required.

The local technical team and strong sense of ownership that developed in Yeşilova provided the concrete answer to this need. The purpose behind founding the cooperative is to transform the knowledge, experience, and problem-solving capacity built up in the field into a permanent, institutional structure that belongs to the producers, rather than leaving it dependent on individuals or on periodic projects.
